My candidacy for Salem State Representative is driven by my formal education and careers in Information Technology (IT) and ministry at home and abroad. Each taught me to listen and to look beyond the noise and rhetoric to get to the heart of a problem. Only then was a resolution possible.
Thirty-two years as an IT professional taught me the value of collaboration and listening to others’ points of view. As a manager, I became a leader only by listening to, learning from, and supporting others.
Prior to this, I served as a Franciscan priest, ministering in the US and overseas. I was chaplain to NATO forces in Holland serving parishioners from a variety of cultures. Again, experience taught me how essential it was to listen and learn. While abroad I also earned a PhD in Religious Studies from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. My ministry and education enabled me to better understand and deepen my values.
As your representative, I will be guided by my belief in personal and fiscal responsibility and accountability; that the true measure of a society is how it treats and whether it protects its most vulnerable members. I believe that accessible and affordable health care and prescription drugs are a right, and that a sound community requires a safe and nurturing learning environment for all children and educators. Public education is an essential public good that should be publicly funded. Your vote counts and must be counted. And no one is above the law.
As your State Representative, I will listen to you, learn from you, and support policies that are good for Salem and will move New Hampshire forward.
